Kim Washetas hails from Chicago, Illinois, and currently operates her website design company from an old-fashioned farmhouse near the Illinois-Wisconsin border. She and Billy Cochrane have been friends for nearly seven years now. It was just four years ago that his casual request, "Hey, gal, can you build me a web page for a couple of knives?" resulted in the simple one-page origin of the extensive website you now know as VintageKnives.com. It was also from the opening of that first one-page shop that the long-percolating dream of owning her own business began to realize itself for Kim.
Scout Computer Resources officially incorporated three years ago, and now serves a wide variety of business clients from Chicago, Milwaukee and Detroit to Jackson, Mississippi. Building the company has afforded Kim the opportunity to enjoy her favorite pursuits: writing, project management, design and travel. And the name Scout? Well, it's a combination of other favorites: the character Jean Louise "Scout" Finch, narrator of Harper Lee's To Kill a Mockingbird;and a passion for history, particularly that of the old West.
You can contact Kim or see more of her website designs at the Scout website: www.scoutcr.com . Better yet, visit with her at the VintageKnives.com tables at the semi-annual Tulsa Arms Show. She will also be attending the upcoming Blade Show in Atlanta in the company of another favorite client, Jim "Treeman" Behring.
