Quick Overview

One-piece construction of A2 tool steel, RC hardness 57, 6" X 1/4" thick blade, full guard w/ lashing holes, fluted "no slip" handle grip, air/water tight, tapered, oval hollow 4 3/4" handle, case hardened steel pommel w/ lanyard holes, conical glass breaker & vacuum seal detent rings, Armor Black CeraKote finish

The X46 Utility Survival Knife is unique in that the butt cap is not threaded as on previous one-piece designs you may be familiar with - it is a double-detent push-on design that is complex to machine but simple to use. This knife is made for multi-purpose utility/survival applications such as bushcraft, camp utility, hunting, fighting/tactical and helo egress. Whether it's trail hiking, wilderness survival or a military application you have in mind, the X46 Utility Survival Knife will meet and exceed your expectations. The unique cap, fluted handle design, and super-rugged one-piece construction provide a survival knife that combines the utility of a design such as the Randall #18 with the superior strength of a knife such as the now-discontinued Chris Reeve Nkonka. The A2 tool steel provides sustained edge holding and easy field sharpening, requirements that most previous one-piece designs have not met.

Specs: One-piece construction of A2 tool steel, RC hardness 57, 6" X 1/4" thick blade, full guard w/ lashing holes, fluted "no slip" handle grip, air/water tight, tapered, oval hollow 4 3/4" handle, case hardened steel pommel w/ lanyard holes, conical glass breaker & vacuum seal detent rings, Armor Black CeraKote finish, diamond braided lanyard cord, 11" overall length, weight: 18.4 oz., Spec Ops Combat Master sheath

A note about the coating:

CeraKote is a ceramic based coating that is applied in a high-temp. oven-cure process The A2 steel used for the X46 can take the 300 degree temp. and not lose temper. CeraKote will obviously handle high temperatures and is impervious to oils and salt water. It's tough, expensive, and will outperform "Duracoat" and "GunCoat" in wear and abrasion tests.

One further note about this particular offering... the first 45 knives off the production line were serial numbered and I was able to buy from that lot. You will get a knife with a number of 20 or lower.
