Quick Overview

Dozier K9M, a variation on the standard Personal Utility with a small kick or thumb rest in the spine. This one is handled in a very striking set of Spalted Maple scales and will make a very memorable gift or everyday carry!

This is the Dozier K9 Modified Personal Utility knife, a model I have not stocked in the recent past. It's got the same full-tang construction as all of Bob's knives (outside of the Retro-classic series) and is bladed in his superlative take on D2. This is a fine semi-stainless tool steel with almost (but not quite) enough chromium to be considered stainless - it is however very corrosion resistant! D2 is used in sawmill planer blades, carpet shears, and other industrial tools were abrasion resistance is a key characteristic. Bob's heat-treat is fine-tuned to get the maximum performance from an already great steel.

The K9 has a 2 7/8" blade and is 6 7/8" long overall; this one is wearing gorgeous Spalted Maple scales over red liners and comes in a horizontal kydex thumb-break sheath (right hand version, which the shop can swap to a left hander if you send it back to them).

What sets the K9M apart from other models in his hunting and personal line (ie the K28 Dozier Personal or the K31 Arkansas Traveler)? The blade is a clip point with a thumb rest and the handles are scalloped or finger-grooved. These are subtle differences and clearly in the realm of personal taste. Any of Bob's under four inch blades work fine for birding, for daily ranch, farm and garden carry, for hiking, or for wearing under a shirt (horizontal carry makes this very easy) on your way downtown to the bank!

Mint , just arrived from the shop in Springdale!
