Quick Overview

Gorgeous ironwood with gold highlights and one of Bob's best hunting patterns! An heirloom knife!

This knife, the K38 Improved Pro Skinner, is 8" overall with a 3 9/16" blade. Although designed with skinning medium and large game as a primary purpose it would also make a fine general-use knife as the skinning belly is less pronounced than on other Dozier models, ie the K17 White River. The K38 seems to blend characteristics of both the K16 Yukon Pro Skinner and the K19 Pro Skinner (19 X 2 = 38, get it?).

Note that the K19 is fully scalloped, the K16 has no handle scallops, and the K38 has a single-fingergroove design. The blade profile and the top grind are also notably different between the three knives.

Features include Bob's proprietary heat-treat of D2 steel and his signature horizontal carry kydex thumb-break sheath. In this case the sheath is set up for a right-hander but that can be reversed by the Dozier shop for the cost of return postage. The handles are a beautiful set of ironwood scales. This is a very nice touch on a somewhat rare knife.

Brand new, just in from the Springdale shop!!

I have included an image of a K12 in ironwood alongside the K38 for comparison - only the ironwood K38 is for sale in this listing. I will have the K12 up separately as long as it is still available.
